Job Summary:


We are seeking an experienced and strategic Business Development Manager to lead growth initiatives for our science-focused logistics company. This role requires a deep understanding of the life sciences sector and the ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical, biotech, and research organizations. The ideal candidate will drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing customized logistics solutions, and expanding our presence in the scientific supply chain industry.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the company’s goals in the science logistics sector.

  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities within the biomedical, biotechnology pharmaceutical, medical biotech, clinical practice and research sectors.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at client organizations, including supply chain managers, lab directors, and procurement officers.

  • Lead contract negotiations and develop customized service proposals tailored to complex scientific logistics needs (e.g., cold chain, time-sensitive, or regulatory-compliant shipping).

  • Collaborate with operations, regulatory, and technical teams to ensure proposed solutions meet client expectations and compliance requirements.

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform strategic decisions.

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to increase visibility and pipeline opportunities.

  • Track and report on business development metrics, including lead conversion, revenue growth, and client retention.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, or a related field (Additional training in  logistics management and marketing is an added advantage).

  • 8+ years of experience in science logistics business development or sales, ideally within logistics, life sciences, or biomedical and technology sectors.

  • Proven success in securing and growing large accounts in regulated or technical markets.

  • Strong understanding of supply chain logistics in scientific or biomedical and technology environments, including GLP compliance and cold chain management.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to think strategically and drive execution in a fast-paced, competitive environment.

  • Willingness to travel as needed to support business growth efforts.


Preferred Experience:



  • Experience working with science business development and marketing with large biotech firms.

  • Familiarity with digital logistics platforms and temperature-sensitive transportation systems.

  • Established network within the life sciences logistics ecosystem.
