Description


Strategic Engagement Limited is hiring a Community Mobilizers to facilitate community engagement and participation in emergency and relief programs. This role acts as a vital link between affected communities and the organization, promoting awareness, mobilizing local resources, and ensuring community needs and feedback are integrated into program planning and implementation.


Key Responsibilities



  1. Community Engagement

    • Conduct community meetings and focus groups to raise awareness of relief programs and services.

    • Mobilize community members to participate actively in project activities and initiatives.

    • Identify local leaders and groups to foster partnerships and encourage community ownership.



  2. Information Dissemination

    • Share relevant program information, guidelines, and updates with community members clearly and sensitively.

    • Use culturally appropriate methods and local languages to communicate.

    • Address community questions and concerns promptly, escalating issues to supervisors as needed.



  3. Feedback and Monitoring

    • Collect community feedback, complaints, and suggestions regarding program activities.

    • Document and report community inputs to program teams for timely response and adaptation.

    • Support participatory monitoring and evaluation activities involving community members.



  4. Capacity Building and Advocacy

    • Facilitate capacity-building sessions for community groups on relevant topics such as health, hygiene, protection, or disaster preparedness.

    • Advocate for vulnerable groups within the community to ensure equitable access to aid.

    • Collaborate with local authorities, NGOs, and stakeholders to strengthen community resilience.

Work Environment

Qualifications & Experience



  • Secondary education minimum; diploma or degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, or related field preferred.

  • At least 1–2 years’ experience in community mobilization, outreach, or social work, preferably in humanitarian or emergency settings.

  • Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of local languages and cultures is essential.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in the field.

  • Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
