Minimum Qualification


Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Land Surveying and Geomatics; or Land surveying and Geo-Spatial Science; or Land Surveying and Information Systems from a recognized University/Institution


Working Experience


Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Staff Surveyor for performing the following duties:-


- Carrying out cadastral/boundary surveys and preparing strip map/cadastral layout based on the final approved engineering design;


- Collaborating with Engineers and Designers to establish the road alignment and road reserve boundaries based on the project requirements and specifications;


- Undertaking cadastral and boundary surveys, Geodetic Surveys, and alignment surveys to collect crucial data and information that is essential for development of roads and resettlement action planning and land acquisition by the Ministry.


- Assisting teams in verifying the resettlement action plan in determining the proper routes before compensation is made;


- Participating in establishing and maintaining a Geographical Information System (GIS) database on Project affected persons and properties along national road corridors;


- Participating in the payment process for compensation and expropriation of land in line with land compensation policy and procedures and the law;


- Participating in the process of clearing the right of way which involves vacation, demolition, and take-over of compensated properties in line with policy, procedures, and the law;


- Investigating and reporting encroachment on road reserves and related Ministry land;


- Any other duties as assigned from time to time.
