Role Overview


We are seeking a professional and customer service-oriented Store Manager to oversee daily operations at our hardware store in Kawanda Wakiso. As the Store Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring operational excellence and enhancing customer satisfaction while leading a team of dedicated staff. Your leadership will directly impact our business strategy and overall performance.


Position Details



  • Employment Type: Full-time

  • Location/Work Arrangement: On-site, Kawanda Wakiso

  • Reporting Structure: Reports to the Managing Director


Key Responsibilities


1. Deliver excellent service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.


2. Motivate the sales team to meet sales objectives through training and mentoring.


3. Create business strategies to attract new customers and enhance profitability.


4. Hire, train, and oversee new staff while managing staff schedules.


5. Respond to customer complaints and concerns professionally.


6. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.


7. Develop promotional materials and in-store displays.


8. Prepare detailed reports on buying trends and customer requirements.


9. Manage store budgets and update financial records.


10. Monitor inventory levels and order new items as necessary.


Requirements


Essential Qualifications



  • Education Requirements: Post-secondary Diploma in Procurement and Store Management or other related fields.

  • Required Experience: 1-2 years in a retail environment, ideally in a managerial role.

  • Mandatory Skills: Reading Comprehension, Monitoring, Coordination, Time Management, Management of Material Resources.

  • Required Technical Knowledge: Proficient in document management software, particularly QuickBooks.

  • Language Requirements: Proficiency in English and Luganda.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Desired Additional Skills: Critical Thinking, Judgment and Decision Making, Systems Analysis.

  • Beneficial Experience: Experience in financial or budget activities.

  • Preferred Certifications: Relevant certifications in retail management.

  • Additional Technical Knowledge: Understanding of retail operations and customer service best practices.
