Key Responsibilities:



  1. Market-Driven Agricultural Initiatives

    • Lead planning and execution of programs enhancing smallholder farmers’ market access and profitability.

    • Strengthen farmer organizations, SACCOs, and cooperatives through capacity building.



  2. Private Sector & Investment Mobilization

    • Develop partnerships with financial institutions, agribusinesses, and investors to improve value-chain financing.

    • Conduct value chain assessments and design upgrading strategies for agribusinesses.



  3. Innovation & Sustainability

    • Promote climate-smart, gender-inclusive business models for resilient agriculture.

    • Integrate ICT solutions (e-business, digital banking) into cooperative development.



  4. Stakeholder Engagement & Training

    • Deliver training in agribusiness management, financial literacy, and marketing strategies.

    • Engage with government, donors, and private sector to foster an enabling environment.



  5. Reporting & Proposal Development

    • Contribute to funding proposals, investment briefs, and impact reports.




Qualifications & Experience:


Required:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, or related field.

  • 3–5 years of experience in market-oriented agricultural programs, value chain development, or private sector engagement.

  • Proven ability to structure agribusiness deals, conduct due diligence, and prepare SMEs for investment.

  • Strong skills in financial modeling, business diagnostics, and stakeholder coordination.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data analysis tools, and participatory training methods.

  • Willingness to travel frequently to rural field locations.


Preferred:



  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.

  • Experience with ICT solutions for agriculture (e.g., digital finance, e-extension).
